Direct Services

Direct Service Volunteers are the lifeblood of many of our programs and services.  They bring energy, expertise and enthusiasm to what they do and enhance programming on many levels.  As the name suggests, Direct Service volunteers work directly with our clients on a regular or semi-regular basis.  Most of our Direct Service opportunities occur in St. Louis County and St. Charles County.

This type of volunteer service could include job placement training, legal advocacy, self-esteem building, or clerical assistance.  While serving as a Direct Service volunteer, you will be placed with either our trained staff or more experienced volunteers.  Volunteering in this capacity will require you to be certified to work with survivors of Domestic Violence (40-hour training) and go through a Saweraa specific training as well. Don’t let that discourage you from direct service volunteering, as it is one of the most rewarding experiences and we can really use your dedication and help.
